Do the work
Pick a helper, ask, and follow the work.
Pick Chat, Work, or Design
Pick the helper before you send your request. Chat is for questions, research, writing, and reading your files and images. You do not need a project. Example: "Find renewals at risk in HubSpot." Work makes and changes files and runs commands inside a project. In Developer mode, Work is called Code. Example: "Turn yesterday's call into a spec." Design builds web pages, apps, slides, and dashboards you can click through. Open it from Design in the sidebar. Example: "Create a mobile app design." Not sure which one to use: - You want an answer or a draft: choose Chat. - You want files changed or commands run: choose Work. - You want something you can click, present, or export: choose Design.
Ask Borg
Write your request the way you would say it to a colleague. The composer has six controls: 1. Attach. On web and desktop, open + to attach files. You can also type @ for a file or folder. Images can be up to 10 MB. Other files can be up to 50 MB, and you can attach up to 8 per message. Type $ to add a skill, or / to open the command menu. 2. Plan first. Turn on Plan first from the + menu, with Shift+Tab, or with /plan. Borg researches and proposes before anything changes. It can read and search. File changes are refused until you implement the plan. 3. Helper. Pick Chat or Work before you send. 4. Model and effort. Borg Fusion is the model family. Set the effort to Low, Medium, High, or Max. 5. Dictate. On Chrome, Edge, and Safari, use the microphone next to Send. A recording can be up to five minutes, and only the transcript is sent. Dictation on the desktop app is temporarily unavailable. On iPhone it runs on the device. 6. Where and how. Choose Local, Cloud, or Remote, and choose how much Borg does on its own. Send when the helper, the effort, and the place are set to what you want.
Watch Borg work
After you send a request, Borg shows its progress in the thread. While it is working you can see: - how long it has been working - how long it spent thinking - which files it read - its checklist, with how many steps are done You can keep guiding it without waiting: - Send a follow-up while it works. - Use Steer to change the direction, then Send now. - Use Stop to end the run. When it finishes you can: - Open the work log to see every step it took. - Open or download the file it produced. - Use Review changes to see exactly what changed. - Open the thread action menu and choose Restore workspace from snapshot to return the files to the newest sealed snapshot. This is on web and desktop, and it asks you to confirm. It does not return the files to an earlier turn of your choice.
